- The hospital says I have bicycle legs

Ruth Persson (94) puts in daily sessions on the bike to keep the blood circulation going after an operation.

At Alders Hvile in Stavanger, Ruth Persson sits on her bike and rides off with a smile on her face. This is an everyday sight for both residents and staff at the nursing home.
- I cycle every day. 5.6 or 5.7 km. But I have Saturday and Sunday off, says the fit 94-year-old.

Ruth can be called a real cyclis, no doubt about that. She has been cycling all her life.
- I rode a regular bike until well into my 80s. Then I came here and now I ride this bike and like to watch a film from Egenes, where I grew up. I really like watching it.

Brag from the hospital

Not long ago, Ruth had to go to hospital to have a toe removed.
- I cycled and cycled and the hospital saw progress due to my improved blood circulation. So cycling has helped me. I'm still receiving treatment, but at the hospital they say I just have to ride my bike. So I put all my work into cycling, Ruth laughs.

They say I have bicycle legs

Ruth is aware that cycling helps her keep in shape. And of course it also helps that the hospital is satisfied and sees a change after the operation.
- I'm going to cycle until I can't do it anymore, says the fit 94-year-old.
